Dom DeLuise: Popular actor, comedian, chef dies

I was expecting this. It was obvious that Dom DeLuise was going to die prematurely the minute he got to 325 pounds. Every time I saw him, I said, "Wow, is he still alive? I thought he was dead already." Then I realized I had him confused with Victor Buono, who died at 43. And James Coco, who died at 56. But, after recovering from the shock that he was still alive, I would say, "That guy is a heart attack just waiting to happen." And I was right; it did wait to happen, until he was 75 years old. The family did not release the cause of death, which is very suspicious. Possibly they did not want to raise a public alarm over Death by Cannoli, and I'll just have to respect that.

But now who will teach us to do the French Mistake?

I always thought he was a dead ringer (too soon?) for Paul Prudhomme, the Cajun chef (http://bit.ly/qYKlY).

You're not kidding! Actually, his AP obit said:

He strongly resembled the famed chef Paul Prudhomme and joked in a 1987 Associated Press interview that he had posed as Prudhomme while visiting his New Orleans restaurant, K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen.

I agree with Tim. So how come Paul Prudhomme is still alive but not Dom?
